Programs

Berkeley City Ballet offers a positive and supportive environment for learning with classes that are small and personal. Within this caring setting, students learn ballet technique, discipline, self-expression, self-confidence and poise.

BCB gives excellent instruction to students regardless of their long-term goals. Becoming a part of Berkeley City Ballet School, not only teaches sound ballet technique, allowing the student choices in college or professionally, but also teaches intangible values such as commitment, focus, team-work, initiative, bravery and many more skills that enhance any future job or pursuit.

The school has two programs, the Pre-Professional Program and the Open Ballet Program:

The Open Ballet Program

  • Classes for children 2-7 years old are fun and magical. They learn early ballet skills and story ballets. These students have Visiting Days two times a year and a spring performance.
  • Classes for Beginning Ballet and Intermediate Ballet for students 8-17 years old are flexible and enjoyable. These students have Visiting Days two times a year and a spring performance.

The Pre-Professional Program

  • Classes for students 8-18 develop quality ballet technique and performance skills. These students perform in the Nutcracker and Spring Concert.
