Berkeley City Ballet offers a positive and supportive environment for learning, with classes that are small and personal. Within this caring setting, students learn ballet technique, discipline, self-expression, self-confidence and poise.
BCB gives excellent instruction to all students regardless of their long-term goals. Along with a sound ballet technique, students learn invaluable skills such as commitment, focus, team-work, initiative, and bravery, enhancing any future pursuits in college or professionally.
The school has two programs, the Pre-Professional Program and the Open Ballet Program:
- Classes for children 2-7 years old are fun and magical. Students learn basic ballet skills. These students have Visiting Days two times a year and one performance.
- Classes for students 8-17 years old are flexible and enjoyable. These students have Visiting Days two times a year and one performance.
- Classes for students 8-18 years old. This program is comprehensive. It develops a quality ballet technique and performance skills. These students perform in the Nutcracker and Spring Concert.
